Lola Marie Murphy Hart – Obituary

Lola Marie Murphy Hart, age 86, of Smithville, and a native of Gravelly Springs, Alabama, passed away Saturday evening at her daughter’s residence. She was born July 1, 1928, to her parents, the late Johnny Wiley and Iciephean Horton Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, James Hart and Howard Hart, son, Terry Hart, 3 brothers, Woodrow, Charley, and Johnny Murphy; seven sisters, Mary Eunice Rich, Nevada Newton, Eunice Bevis, Mildred Campa, Vergie Fowler, Odella Smith, Carrie Robbins, and Ruby Price. Ms. Lola was a homemaker and a member of Valley View House of Prayer. She is survived by five children, Brenda White, of Waterloo, Carolyn Myrick, of Center Star, Sharon Barron, of Smithvile, Tennessee, Dawna Hart, of Florence, and Clint Hart, of Waterloo; stepson, Charles Hart, of Florence; and two sisters, Roxie Villers, of Gravelly Springs, and Dorothy Malone, of Tuscumbia. Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11, 2014, at the Lighthouse Apostolic Church in Florence with Brothers Larry Burbank and Paul Holloway Jr. officiating and burial to follow in Murphy’s Chapel Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. at the Lighthouse Apostolic Church. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements (615) 597-9400.
