Lola Mae Whittemore A service to honor the life and homegoing of Lola Mae Whittemore will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Farmington Baptist Church with Reverends Ralph Culp and Rodney Whittemore officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at Magnolia Funeral Home – East and from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Farmington Baptist Church.
Mrs. Lola Mae entered her eternal home in heaven at her residence on June 28, 2021 at the age of 91. She was born on January 21, 1930 to the late Alpheus David Harrison and Jewel Whitaker Harrison Plaxico. She was a member of the 1949 Senior class of Glendale High school and later graduated from Northeast Mississippi Community College (NEMCC) in 1951, with one of the first graduating classes. She enjoyed a long, successful career as an accountant for Moore and Gray CPA, Timber Hills Mental Health Services and Singleton Mill Supply. She and her husband were owners of Farmington Antiques. Lola Mae enjoyed gardening, working outside, painting, crafting, sewing and quilting. Due to declining health in recent years, she became an inactive member of the Cross City Piece Makers Quilt Guild. She was a long-time, active member of Farmington Baptist Church where she ministered to children for many years through Sunday School, AWANA and Vacation Bible School. She was always willing to volunteer in many other areas of church ministry as well as serving in many elected areas of the church.
Those left to honor her memory are two daughters: Diane Young and husband David and Donna Miles and husband, Kenny all of Corinth; seven grandchildren: Haven Caldwell (Landon), Haley Weathers (Jeremy), Heather Williams (Chase) all of Corinth, Jordan Miles of Raleigh NC, Katie Miles, Landon Miles and Marlie Miles all of Corinth, three great-grandchildren: Siena Claire Weathers, Lincoln Curtis Weathers, Rhein Chase Williams and a great-grandson to be born in October; sister-in-law, Patsy Harrison; numerous nieces, nephews, other relative and a host of friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years: John Curtis Whittemore and her brother: Donald Harrison, Sr.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Miles, Landon Miles, Landon Caldwell, Jeremy Weathers, Chase Williams and Junior Harrison.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Oasis Medical Center or Eagle Homeschool Association c/o Bevin Wilder, 2005 Roundelay, Corinth, MS. 38834
