Lois J. Long, 99, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Monday, April 29, 2013, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. Mrs. Long was the last living charter member of the Paden Chapter No. 351 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She held dual memberships in both the Paden and Iuka Chapters, and had served as Worthy Matron, Chaplain, Warden, and Electra. She and her husband previously owned two retail grocery stores in the North Crossroads area and also one in the Holts Spur area. Mrs. Long was an accomplished quilt maker and the recipient of the Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home Volunteer Distinguished Service Award in 1998 for her dedication as a volunteer. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 30, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka. Funeral services with Eastern Star Rites are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Franky Smith. Interment will follow in Forked Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Masons. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Survivors include one granddaughter, Deborah Elrod (Andy) of Iuka; two great-grandsons, Frankie Stidham and Tim Stidham (Jessica), both of Iuka; and three great-great-grandsons, Ethan, Seth, and Patrick Stidham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Long; her parents, Dick and Rosa Jourdan; a son, Leroy Long; a daughter-in-law, Louise Long; five brothers, Ray, Herman, Mack, M.C., and Brian Jourdan; and two sisters, Juanita White and Erma Epperson.
