Funeral for Lois Couch Monroe, 93, of Trinity will be Sunday, June 29, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Little officiating. Burial will be in Dancy Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Mrs. Monroe died Thursday, June 26, 2014, at NHC, Moulton. She was born May 24, 1921, in Lawrence County to Hubbard Couch and Ola Fuller Couch. At her death, she was the oldest living member of Midway Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert V. Monroe; son, Herbert V. Monroe Jr.; brother, Aulton Couch; sister, Auline Scarbrough; grandson, James F. Putnam Jr.; and granddaughter, Emily Legg.
Survivors include three daughters, Linda Putnam (James) of Cameron, N.C., and Betty Alvis and Janice (Phillip) Waldrep, both of Trinity; eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 13 great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Louise Thomas, Evelyn Ogles, Fayedean Standridge, all of Trinity.
Pallbearers will be David Clemons, Will Wright, Tony Hicks, Chuck McKee, David Scarbrough and Jimmy Thomas.
