use me helping hands01SHEFFIELD – A new source-book, an exhaustive catalog of public assistance agencies, has just been published in The Shoals. Developed by a volunteer organization with Sheffield’s Presbyterian Church, the book is designed to help guide volunteers and the people they serve through the seeming morass of services available.

Gene Hanby, one of the people involved in the publication, says this is a breakthrough document, “There are so many places in North Alabama where people in need can get help. The problem was, until the publication of this guide book, it was almost impossible for people to figure out how to get to the help they need.”

The book is free of charge. It is available at the Sheffield First Presbyterian Church on 5th Street. Call them at 256 383-1717.

If you need to find the source references right now, simply click on this link to download a PDF of the Guide.
