MUSCLE SHOALS – Motorists driving down Hwy. 72A in Muscle Shoals are reminded be thankful for living in America when they see the gigantic United States Flag flying proudly over the big-rig truck wash, TD Wash. Owner, Denny Robinson, who built the facility decided to install a huge flagpole at his facility, located right behind Love’s Plaza. It is a beautiful landmark! A bit over a week ago, Robinson got a phone call from the TVA Veterans Association. They wanted to provide him with a brand new flag to replace the flag that’s been flying for the last couple of years. The old flag has been flying proudly, but the winds and weather had taken their toll.

Enter The American Legion. The Legion, which is the de factoย  organization that provides United States Flags to individuals and organizations all over the world, delivered a brand new, gigantic flag to TD Wash. There were representatives from TVA and the Legion present to help remove the old flag and install the new one.

Doug Keeling, TVA Vice President, Power Service Shop, regional maintenance told The Quad Cities Daily, “We’re just proud to help and serve and, reach out in our communities, especially as we extend through our veterans.”

Russ Noah, TVA Veterans Outreach Committee, told us that, “We go around before Memorial Day with flags and honor some of our fellow brothers that fell in combat and weren’t able to make it home.”

Denny Robinson explained, “I’m just excited about it. I was Saturday when he came in to tell me they were going to do this. I was, like, heck yeah! So I thought that was really awesome. And it’s our heritage, you know, my family members. My dad was in Vietnam, my granddad was Korean War and they lived in Panama, and my father-in-law, Robert Walker who served for many years. And my 31 year career. So I’m really thankful that The Legion and TVA thought of us!”
