Mr. Lloyd Emory Dowdy, 81, of Waterloo, passed away Thursday July 18, 2012. Visitation will begin at 12:30pm Saturday at Greenview Funeral Home with the service at 2pm in Greenview Memorial Chapel, Wayne Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Murphy’s Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Dowdy was born in Waterloo to Arthur Jackson Dowdy and Roxie Belle Balentine Dowdy. He was a retired over the road truck driver, a member of Hendrix Chapel Church of Christ and a member of the Teamster’s Union. He also served in the US Army.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters, Flossie Scott and Ramona Dowdy. Survivors are his son, Mark Dowdy, Waterloo; two granddaughters, Dena Loree Dowdy, Indianapolis, IN and Darci Belle Dowdy, Fostoria, OH; nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Justin Holloway, Shane Holloway, Eric Scott, Lee Strong, Austin Strong and Jonathan Davidson.
