FLORENCE-Ever feel like you’re too old to learn a new language? Ever feel like you just weren’t “born with the language gene?” Please allow us to show you why age and talent have nothing to do with your ability to learn a secondary language. On Saturday, May 26 from 3 PM – 5 PM at the Florence-Lauderdale Public Libray we will help you learn to live through language.
We are a group of individuals at varying levels of study and fluency in multiple languages. Our mission is simple: connect those in our area wishing to broaden their understanding of different cultures through language with those studying the same language or those fluent in that language. In the information age, learning a new language is not only incredibly beneficial – it’s easier than it has ever been.
Join us for our first meeting and a presentation on how acquiring a second language can have tremendous benefits for both older and younger learners.
We encourage learners of any skill level to attend and meet people who will hopefully become resources and study buddies.
This event is free to the public and will be held in the Reading Room at the FLPL.
