Living Land & Water ….. Education Is The Key

IMG_7823FLORENCE-Living Lands & Waters continued their stay in The Shoals with educational workshops for area school children and the third lecture in the  series of River Tour Speakers with Dr. Jim Lacefield.

The night began with a tour of the barge and a hamburger cook out hosted by Chad Pregracke and his crew. The group settled down and Dr. Lacefield author of “Lost Worlds in Alabama Rocks” discussed the geological history of the Tennessee River in Alabama.

The reason behind the workshops for the students and the Speaker Series for the adults is education…the more you know about the lad and water the more you will want to keep it clean and beautiful.  Everyone left with a different view of our lovely Tennessee River and a greater understanding, thanks to Dr. Lacefield, of how our river and land came to be what it is today.
