Linnie Dean Elkins Cook – Obituary

Funeral for Linnie Dean Elkins Cook, 97, of Mount Hope will be Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Mount Hope Baptist Church with Mike Boone officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Mount Hope Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.

Mrs. Cook, who died Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Russellville Hospital, was born February 6, 1916, in Lawrence County to Joseph Addison Elkins and Lucy Elkins. She was retired from Clarks Supermarket and Piggly Wiggly. She was a lifelong member of Mount Hope Baptist Church. Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Ashburn “Buddy” Elkins.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy Cook and Dorothy of Mount Hope; two granddaughters, Sandi Webb and Freddy and Kristie Robertson and Proncey, both of Mount Hope; two great-grandsons, Taylor Webb and Isaac Webb; two stepgreat-grandsons, Jacob Robertson and Daniel Robertson; and sister, Quinnie Smith.

Pallbearers will be Donnie Hopkins, Jimmy Stancil, Bobby Campbell, Dennis Gilbreath, Lanier Sibley and Dyle Harville.

Honorary pallbearers will be Elwyn Stephenson, Wayne Smith, L.O. Roberson and Gene Pace.
