Linda Paulette Staggs, 67, of Tuscumbia, passed away October 6, 2017. Her visitation will be today, October 9, 2017 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will be Tuesday, October 10th at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Tommy James and Steve Justice officiating. Burial will follow in Colbert Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Staggs was a native of Florence. In her late 40’s she got gloriously saved and renewed her faith and commitment to Christ and became one of the Godliest women that people had ever known. She was a member of Faith Church. Linda had a desire to help women who found themselves trapped in a domestic violence situation. That was a little over 16 ½ years ago when she had a major stroke. She lost all use of her right side and lost her speech.
Linda has been a testimony to the power of an all-powerful God. In the nursing home, where she has lived for the last 16 ½ years, she was a mighty prayer warrior. Many times employees would come in her room and ask Linda to pray for them or one of their loved ones. Linda would raise her one good arm with her hand lifted to God, she would pray and the employee would go back to work. Without speaking a word out loud, she spoke volumes of the power of God to enter your everyday situation and bring about good.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Betty Cox; and a sister, Libby Allen.
She is survived by her son, Joshua Staggs; daughter, Amanda Lacks (Ron); sisters, Donna Justice (Steve) and Shirley Allen (Zach); granddaughter, Carley Ashe (Jordan); grandson, Braiden Black; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ron Lacks, Joey Gans, Michael Terry, Jonathan Justice, Jeff Olson, and Wendell Greenleaf.
The family expresses a special thanks to Cottage of the Shoals for their loving care for the past 16 ½ years, to Dr. Evans, Dr. Yordy, and Keller Hospice for their amazing love and care. They also express a very special thank you to her loving friends, Reva Rhodes and Cat Cheatham.
