Linda McCorkle Boatright, 69, of Waterloo, Alabama, passed away Aug. 7, 2014, at her residence. She was a member of College View Church of Christ and River Bend Church of Christ, a graduate of Central High School, and attended UNA. Linda was Dr. Shaler Roberts Jr. opthalmic assistant for 35 years at the Florence Clinic and owner of McCorkle’s Interiors with her son. Linda loved nothing more than preparing meals and catering to her family.
There is no visitation planned. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014, at 10 a.m. in Greenview Memorial Park with David Thomley officiating.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian Walter and Mildred Winter Wylie, first husband, William R. McCorkle Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Donald D. Boatright (of the home); son, William A. McCorkle, of Florence; stepdaughter, Shawn Donaldson (Blake), of Kansas City; stepson, Shane Boatright (Alexa), of Birmingham; and grandchildren, Mary Martha Donaldson, of Kansas City, and Thomas Maxwell Donaldson, of Oxford, Mississippi.
Pallbearers will be Dr. Allen Lowman, Don Miller, Ronnie Clanton, Donnie Winter, Steve Winter, and Mel Grimes.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to River Bend and College View Churches of Christ for their love, support, and prayers during her brief illness, along with many dear friends in the Waterloo community.
