Linda Mary Marshall Patton Profile Photo  Linda Mary Marshall Patton, 82, of Thompson’s Station, Tennessee, peacefully passed away on June 24, 2026.

Born in Savannah, Georgia, on June 8, 1944, to John Edwin and Mattie Sue Marshall, Linda grew up attending Savannah High School. On December 22, 1962, she married the love of her life, Billy Eugene Patton, in their hometown of Savannah, beginning a beautiful 62-year journey together.

A lifelong learner and educator, Linda attended Big Springs Community College and shared her talents as a sewing teacher for Stretch and Sew, a role she proudly took on to help support her children through college. She later built a successful 20-year career with Willis Corroon Insurance, from which she retired.

Beyond her professional life, Linda’s true passion was her faith and her family. In her youth, she was an active member of the Young Homemakers of America. For over 50 years, she served as a deeply supportive minister’s wife and a devoted teacher at local churches across Georgia, South Carolina, Texas, and Tennessee. Her legacy of faith, service, and maternal devotion will be cherished by all who knew her.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, John Edwin and Mattie Sue Marshall; her brother, Thomas Marshall; and her sister, Edna Marshall Edwards.

She is survived and dearly missed by her beloved husband of 62 years, Billy Eugene Patton; her children, Deneen Patton Murphy and Anthony Patton; her daughter-in-law, Cheryl Patton; her cherished grandchildren, Evan Murphy, Dawson Murphy, Megan Patton, and Emily Patton and spouse Max Small; and her adored great-grandchildren, Kalli and Kaden Murphy.

Graveside services will be held in the near future at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, Tennessee, and at Hillcrest Abbey East Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Savannah, Georgia.

In Lieu of Flowers, The Patton Family requests donations be made to the Billy and Linda Patton Biblical Studies Scholarship at Lubbock Christian University.
