Linda Marie Luna, 87, of Athens, passed away on Sunday, April 30th, 2023, at Limestone Health Facility. Mrs. Luna was born on April 25th, 1936, to Gordon and Jewel Griffin Leopard.
Mrs. Luna is survived by her husband James Luna; daughter Jennifer Luna Townsend; grandchildren Randall James Townsend and Joshua Lee Townsend; great-grandchildren Bethlyn Townsend and Addie Townsend; sister Ann Whitt; and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Luna is preceded in death by her parents Gordon and Jewel Leopard; and brothers Doyce Leopard, Marshall Leopard, and Wayne Leopard.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 3rd, 2023, at O’Neal Church of Christ, at 2:00 p.m., with Guy McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be at O’Neal Church of Christ, on Wednesday, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Carlos Martinez, Randall Townsend, Joshua Townsend, Matthew Leopard, Shawn Leopard, and Colby Goode. Honorary pallbearers are Caleb Goode and Ivan Romero. Burial will be at O’Neal Cemetery.
Mrs. Luna loved Alabama football, her family, church family, and her church.
