Linda Mae Sherrill Davis, age 81, of Clifton, TN, peacefully passed away at her home on July 4, 2026.
She was born on November 22, 1944, Linda was the beloved daughter of the late Roy Daniel Sherrill and Bonnie Christine Haddock Sherrill. She shared a loving marriage with her husband, Fay Davis, until his passing in 1996. Their love and devotion to one another remained a treasured part of her life.
Linda was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent many years employed in factory work, including at Angelica Manufacturing Company and several other local factories. After retiring, she found one of her greatest joys in serving as a participant in the Adopt-a-Grandparent program at Frank Hughes Elementary School. Her gentle heart, warm smile, and caring spirit made a lasting impact on the students and staff whose lives she touched.
Linda found happiness in life’s simple blessings. She had a passion for gardening, painting, crocheting, and cooking, and she especially cherished the time spent surrounded by her family. Whether sharing a meal, creating something beautiful with her hands, or tending to her garden, Linda’s love was evident in everything she did. Her kindness, strength, and generous heart will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Though she has left this earthly life, the love she shared, the memories she created, and the legacy of compassion she leaves behind will remain in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Davis and husband Walter of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Coty Davis and wife Kendra of Clarksville, TN, and Jeremy “Tree” Davis and fiancé Amanda of Savannah, TN; great grandchildren, Pearl Patterson and husband Matthew of Waynesboro, TN, Kaytlen Kinney and husband Mai of Waynesboro, TN, Gabriel Hahn of Clarksville, TN, Lisa Hahn of Clarksville, TN, and Braiden Hahn of Clarksville, TN; great-great grandchildren, Wren Singleton, Terry Kinney, Jensen Kinney, Amber Patterson, and Autumn Patterson; sister-in-love, Bessie Witherspoon; and special furry friend, Sissy.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Fay Davis; parents, Roy Daniel and Bonnie Christine Haddock Sherrill; son, Gregory Keith Davis; and twin sister, Glenda Pierce.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm service time at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 1:00 pm at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro, TN with Tracy Love and Pearl Patterson officiating. Burial to follow in Worley Cemetery.
