Linda Louise Raburn Kirksey – Obituary

 Linda Louise Raburn Kirksey died peacefully in her sleep after an extended illness on August 19, 2017. She was born October 7, 1938, to Cletus Carson Raburn and Ernie Mae (Stovall) Raburn in the Centerville Community near Mantachie, where she grew up with five other sisters. In 1960, she married John Mac Kirksey and was a book keeper for their construction company, Kirksey Contractors Inc.. Linda also owned and operated Linda’s Playschool in Mantachie for over 10 years. Loved by many, “Ms Linda” also taught many local children to swim. She was a member of Tombigbee Baptist Church and loved to sing. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her three sons and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Willis, her parents, and her husband, Mac Kirksey.

She is survived by sons John Mac Kirksey Jr. (Penny), Robert Carson Kirksey, William Mark Kirksey (Amy); grandchildren, Savannah, Summer, Houston, and Haylie Kirksey; a sister-in-law, Martha Senter (Pat), who has been a special part of her life during her illness; sisters, Sue Nichols, Willa Dean Gaddy, Julia Grimes (George), and Joan Barber, and numerous step grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 22, at Tombigbee Baptist Church with Brother Royce Hawkins officiating. Private burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is entrusted with arrangements.
Visitation will be Monday, August 21, from 4 to 6:30 pm at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie and Tuesday from noon to 2 pm at Tombigbee Baptist Church.
