Cullman Funeral Home is honored to serve the family.

Linda was born February 18, 1944, to Ernest Shoemaker and Inez Gorham Shoemaker.  She passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jimmy Moody; grandparents, Grover and Hester Gorham; grandparents, William and Martha Shoemaker; half-brother, Ernest “Loyd” Shoemaker, Jr.; half-sister, Anita Shoemaker.

She is survived by her sisters, Brenda Young (Raymond), and Katye Delashaw; nieces and nephews, Jennifer Harris (Matthew), Jonathan Young, Jeffrey Young, Jeremy Young, Tyler Delashaw (Darian).

Linda was a caring and soft-spoken individual who spent her time enjoying her favorite things – the Atlanta Braves, Andy Griffith, cats, country music, and crossword puzzles. She lived a life full of love for God and family. Her husband Jimmy was her everything, and when she lost him in 2002, Linda found a renewed love for and from her immediate family.  We will continue to see her reflection in her identical twin sister, Brenda.

We have many fond memories of Linda, and life won’t be quite the same without her. Faith, however, will eventually triumph grief as we are affirmed of her deliverance to the Holy Father. Grant unto her eternal rest, o Lord. Rest in peace, our dear sweet Linda Lou. You are very loved, and we will miss you greatly.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in honor of Linda to Oak Level Baptist Church: 1272 Co. Rd. 1635, Cullman, AL 35058.
