Linda Herston Thornton, 74, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017, at her residence. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Killen. She was a very compassionate caregiver with a big heart to many loved ones.
A memorial service will be Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, at Trinity Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with Bobby Walton and Robert Clark officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jessie “J.D.” Herston and William “Bill” Thornton; parents, Bertis Buster and Willie Mae Fulks; son, Wade Herston; sister, Carolyn Corum; and brother, Junior Fulks.
She is survived by her children, Pam (Anthony) Givens and Randall (Terra) Herston; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Merle (Jerome) Zahnd and Cathy (Bill) Smoke; brother, Ralph (Jean) Fulks; special aunt, Dessie Sims; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to Hospice of the Shoals, 115 Fairground Rd., Florence, AL 35630.
