Linda Gayle Lankford, 77, of Ardmore, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 19, 2026.
She was born on Saturday, May 14, 1949, to the late Howard Thurman Atchley and the late Pearlie Clark Atchley.
Linda lived in the Ardmore, Tennessee community for half her life and was a member at Living Water Church in Toney, Alabama. In her free time, she enjoyed relaxing at the house and spending time with her family. She had a passion for singing and sang with multiple groups throughout her lifetime.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Larry Atchley and Tom Atchley, as well as one sister-in-law, Patricia Atchley.
Linda is survived by her husband of thirty and a half years, David Lankford, three sons: Jamie (Jennifer) Louden, Scott Louden, and Derrick Lankford, one daughter, Nickie (Grant) Luker, one sister, Joyce Atchley, nine grandchildren; Mackenzie Louden, Myla Louden, Elly Louden, Hayden Lankford, Zoey Lankford, Allyson Lankford, Brody Lankford, DT Luker, and JP Luker, one great grandchild, Bentlee Dempsey, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
There will be a visitation held for Mrs. Lankford at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama, on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A chapel service is scheduled to be held the following day, Monday, August 24, 2026, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home with service time beginning at 11:00 AM. Bro. Charles Mayo, Bro. Derrick Lankford, and Bro. Michael Clark will officiate the service. Burial to follow at Blanche Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and/or the Lincoln Home Health and Hospice.
Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
