Linda Gail Burrell (Linda Gail), 79, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on October 7, 2022 in North Carolina. She was born March 18, 1943 in Haleyville, Alabama to the late Willie Leslie and Wiliam Frank Edwards.

Linda Gail was a beautiful, kind, and giving mother, grandmother, wife, aunt, and friend to all that knew her. She was a firm believer in The Good Lord and she shared that she wanted everyone to love one another regardless of beliefs and differences. She was strong and steadfast in her love for God, her family and her friends. She also loved animals and they always found their way to her to be rescued and loved. She leaves behind her dog, Nubi, and is predeceased by her dog, Muffin.

LInda Gail was a collector, a skilled machinist, an artist, a courageous entrepreneur, and an astute businesswoman who made a home for her two daughters, and later her grandchildren who lovingly called her “Mema.” She accepted all people into her home and made sure anyone who crossed the threshold was full, happy, and comfortable.

Linda Gail is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Dickson; her grandchildren, Marshall Burrell, Austina Wolverton, Leslie Harwell, and Larry Hogle; three great grandchildren, Owen Stevens, David Stevens, and Omar Harwell; 4 brothers and sisters; Louise Fuller, Elouise Sutherland, Johnny Edwards, and Ronnie Edwards and a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Marshall Burrell; her daughter, Melinda Burrell; her brother Jimmy Edwards; and her long-term companion, Barrie Anderson.

Visitation will be held for family at Waldrop Freewill Baptist Church on Wednesday, October 12th from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. Visitation will be open to the public from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. with her nephew, Josh Sutherland officiating. Interment will take place immediately after the funeral at Winston Memorial Cemetery.

Flowers may be sent to Pinkard Funeral Home from Dixie Flower and Gifts in Haleyville, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, you may also make a donation to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
