A Celebration of Life and Love for Linda Faye “Sis Dunkin” Bankhead, 56, of Hillsboro will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Ebenezer Christian Church in Hillsboro with Bishop R.M. Johnson officiating and inhumation to follow in Sterrs Cemetery. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral. Public viewing will be today from 10 to 7 p.m. at Reynolds Funeral Home.
Linda Faye Bankhead, the daughter of Ruben and Pauline Bankhead Sr., was born on April 28, 1959, in Lawrence County, Alabama. God called her home on May 27, 2015. Linda was a member of Ebenezer Christian Church under the leadership of Bishop R.M. Johnson. She attended school in Courtland, Alabama where she graduated from Central High School. Linda was a very special, quiet young lady who others loved to be around. She will truly be missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Khalika Bankhead, of Hillsboro.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Chaletha Bankhead and Kristy Bankhead, both of Hillsboro; a devoted friend, Donald Madden, of Hillsboro; four brothers, Ruben Bankhead Jr., of Decatur, Clifford Bankhead, of Atlanta, GA., Thomas Bankhead, of Hillsboro, and Kenneth Bankhead (Lesa ), of Decatur; seven sisters, Sarah Foster, Paulette Patton (Ronnie), and Victoria Sales (Johnny), all of Athens, Gwen Maxwell, of Decatur, Debbie Shaw (Keith) , of Prattville, Carolyn Owens (Alphonso), of Decatur, and Veronica Bankhead, of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Shukirah and Kyra (Kristy); and dear friends, Loretta Cooper (Carl), Ann Hampton, Yolanda Carter (James), all of Decatur, and Randi Braden, of Hillsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
