Linda D. HartLinda D. Hart, age 74, of Arab, Alabama passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital. Linda was born April 15, 1949, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Houston “Buck” Betterton and Margaret Wilks Betterton. Linda was a graduate of Arab High School and an active member of Arab Wesleyan Church. She and husband, Johnny Hollis Hart were married for over 57 years. Linda worked and retired from Arab Water Works where she was employed as a customer service clerk. She also worked with the children at Great Day Kindergarten.

Linda loved her family. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was also always up for a spontaneous road trip, and she loved a fun girl’s week-end trip. She enjoyed reading and watching movies. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with all her heart. She made it a priority every day to spend time with him in prayer and in the Word. She was an active member of Arab Wesleyan Church and loved her church family.

Family members left behind to cherish their memories of Linda include her husband, Johnny Hollis Hart, sons, Johnny Hollis Hart, Jr. (Betsy) and Wesley Hart (Joslyne); daughter, Heather Collins (Kevin); sister, Patsy Carter; grandchildren, Will Collins (Paola), Anna Hart Morrow (Clay), Kate Collins, Jack Hart, Houston Hart, Taylor Hart, Tessa Hart, Emmy Lou Hart; great grandchildren, Mary Hollis Morrow and Amelia Collins.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Margaret Betterton and her sister, Sherria Isom.

Services for Linda will be at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. The visitation will be on Saturday, February 24, 2024, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. Officiating the service will be Pastor Nicky James, Will Collins and Hollis Hart. Pallbearers escorting Linda to her final resting place in Arab Memorial Cemetery will be Jack Hart, Houston Hart, Taylor Hart, Jeff Isom, Greg Isom and Tyler Hart.
