Linda Caroline Dowty was born December 6, 1946 in McNairy County, TN, the daughter of the late Arden Russell Morgan and Annie Marie Morgan. She graduated from Selmer High School in 1964.
Throughout her career, Linda worked at the Brown Shoe Company, Jetricks Shirt Factory, and ultimately retired from McNairy County Health Care. Her commitment to her work and the people she served was a reflection of her kind heart. Linda was also a member of the Court Avenue Cumberland Church in Selmer, Tennessee and the Selmer Moose Lodge (WOTM) many years ago.
Linda departed this life on December 25, 2025 in Henderson, Tennessee at the age of 79 Years, 19 Days.
She is survived by two sons, Arden Dowty and wife Becky, Stacy Dowty all of Selmer, TN; five grandchildren: Tyler Dowty and wife Lauren of Bolivar, TN, Mallory Dowty of Selmer, TN, Stephen Harmon and wife Emily of Henderson, TN, Krystina Prather and husband Barry of Guys, TN, Jacob Ryan Dowty; six great grandchildren: Adyson Prather, Timothy Prather, Corey Dowty, Conner Harmon, Savannah Harmon, Kinsley Harmon; close cousin and friend, Brenda Robinson Sparks.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by a grandson, Jacob Ryan Dowty on October 20, 2016; and a cousin, Peggy Smith.
