Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Investigating Counterfeit Money At Elkmont High School

 LIMESTONE COUNTY-The Limestone County Sheriff’s Department issued a statement on Tuesday, April 30 concerning the possession of counterfeit money of students from Elkmont High School:

“The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the possession and use of counterfeit money among Elkmont High School students.

On Sunday April 28, deputies took a report for a juvenile passing a counterfeit $100 bill in the school. Investigators began following up on the case Tuesday and were able to recover 20 fake $100 bills from students.

The sheriff’s office would like to remind the public to check your money. If you suspect you are in possession of counterfeit money, notify the sheriff’s office immediately and do not attempt to use the bills. This investigation is ongoing at this time.

The pictured counterfeit bills were purchased on the internet. It is a felony to possess and use this money.”
