ATHENS-The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office (“LCSO”) and the Athens Police Department – Alabama (“APD”) have successfully worked together to investigate and solve a series of thefts involving stolen trucks and trailers across North Alabama. Through their diligent efforts, investigators developed key suspects in the case: Tommy Kaye Thompson and William Flint Childers.
Thompson and Childers have been arrested in connection with multiple vehicle and trailer theft incidents. The investigation has resulted in the recovery of numerous stolen trucks and trailers, thanks to the extensive collaboration between LCSO and APD.
Tommy Kaye Thompson III, 31, of Tanner, AL, has been charged with five counts of Theft in the First Degree, Receiving Stolen Property in the First Degree, and Receiving Stolen Property in the Second Degree. Thompson’s bond is set at $37,500.
