LIMESTONE COUNTY-On April 25, 2025, Limestone County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a 911 call in the 16000 block of Coffman Road regarding a report of physical and sexual assault. Upon arrival, deputies located the victim and the suspect, identified as Luis Enrique Valencia, 23 years of age, from Mexico.
Deputies observed that the victim was bleeding from her head, and her clothing was torn. The Limestone County Criminal Investigations Division, led by Lt. Jay Stinnett and Investigator Kandace Wilson, responded to the scene to conduct a

thorough investigation.Preliminary findings revealed that the victim had recently ended a relationship with Valencia, which reportedly enraged him. Valencia is accused of assaulting the victim by striking her with a glass jar, binding and choking her, and subsequently committing sexual assault. The victim was able to escape to a bathroom, where she locked the door and called 911 for help.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries. Valencia was taken into custody and transported to the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators executed a search warrant at the residence, where critical evidence was collected supporting the victim’s allegations.
Following the investigation, probable cause was established to arrest Valencia on the following charges:
•Rape 1st Degree
•Domestic Violence Assault 2nd Degree
•Domestic Violence Strangulation or Suffocation
This case will require an Aniah’s Law hearing to determine whether Valencia will be granted bond.
Additionally, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has placed an immigration detainer on Valencia.
