LIMESTONE COUNTY-A Limestone County Sheriff’s Deputy made a routine traffic stop in the Ardmore area.  The suspect assaulted the officer and fled into a wooded area.  Here is how the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office describes the event:

“On March 24th while on patrol, Limestone County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Jonathan Hardiman made a routine traffic stop in the Ardmore area of Sweet Springs Rd and Brock Rd with a vehicle occupied with an individual that had active warrants. The offender was Tony Glover, w/m, 32yrs old. Deputy Hardiman had Glover to get out of the vehicle and advised him that he had active warrants. At that point Glover pushed away from the deputy and attempted to elude into a wooded, swampy area. A brief altercation between the deputy and Glover occurred and the offender was able to break away and move farther into the wooded area. Limestone County Sheriff’s Office and Ardmore Police Department set up a perimeter around the area. With assistance from the Limestone Prison K9 tracking unit and Limestone County Sheriff’s Office helicopter, the area was searched for over four hours. Search units made contact with Glover a couple of times in the swamp but he was able to elude due to the conditions. The perimeter was set up during the night to monitor the area. At approximately 7am this date, a resident on Leaning Pine Rd observed the offender entering a trailer and contacted the Sheriff’s Office. Glover was arrested and is in custody at the Limestone County Jail on the four active warrants with no bond. More charges are pending and will be added later today.”
