ATHENS – The Limestone County Bar Association has donated $20,000 to Community Table (formerly Limestone County Churches Involved, or L.C.C.I.) to help provide food and essential resources to individuals and families in need throughout Limestone County.
Community Table has long been a cornerstone of support for local residents facing hardship, providing groceries, personal care items, and emergency assistance. With the upcoming holiday season, the recent government shutdown, and the potential suspension of SNAP benefits, the need for community support is greater than ever.
“The Limestone County Bar Association is deeply rooted in this community,” said Laura Kirby, President of the Limestone County Bar Association. “As attorneys, we see firsthand the challenges many families face. We’re honored to partner with Community Table in meeting those needs and hope others in the community will join us in supporting this vital organization.”
Community Table operates through local volunteers and donations from individuals, churches, and businesses. Every dollar given helps provide direct assistance to neighbors in need within Limestone County.
Those who wish to contribute can visit www.communitytableathens.org or contact their office at 256-262-0671 to learn more about how to help.
“Now is the time for all of us to come together,” Kirby added. “Even a small gift can make a big difference in the life of a family this season.”
