Lillie E. Hambrick Speegle Stricklin – Obituary

Lillie E. Hambrick Speegle Stricklin, 93, passed from this life Wednesday, October, 21, 2015 at her residence. She was born April 14, 1922 to parents, William Harvie and Tilda Abbott Hambrick. Mrs. Stricklin was a loving mother and an excellent cook and homemaker. She was also a seamstress and worked at Cullman Lingerie for 25 years.

Mrs. Stricklin was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Fred W. Speegle; her last husband, Elvin T. Stricklin; two brothers, Marvin and Joel Hambrick; five sisters, Pearl King, Hattie and Bertie Hambrick, Verla Guthrie, and Mervelene Speegle; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Speegle; and a grandson, Jody Speegle.

She is survived by three sons, David (Phyllis) Speegle, James (Linda) Speegle, and Leomery Speegle; two stepdaughters, June (Rickey) McMinn and Shelia McMinn; a brother, Arvel Hambrick, a sister, Josie (Edgar) Swann; a niece who was like a sister, Imogene Johnson; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; a special friend, Amie Murphy; and many other friends and neighbors who loved her.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 24, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home and will continue again on Sunday at 1 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday October 25, in the funeral home chapel, with Chaplain Charles E. Maples officiating. Interment will be in Valley Springs Cemetery.
