LILLIE DIANNE VALES TROTTER, a resident of the Grand Valley Lakes Community in Hardeman County and wife of Stephen “Steve” Trotter died at 2 P.M. Tuesday, December 23, 2008 in Hardeman County as the result of a one-vehicle accident that occurred near her Lake Hardeman home. She was 49 years of age. Funeral services for Mrs. Trotter were conducted at 4 P.M. Friday, December 26th at Peebles Main Funeral Chapel in Somerville with Rev. Nathan Bishop of Bolivar officiating. Interment followed in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. Arrangements were provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes—Main Chapel of Somerville. Mrs. Trotter was born February 4, 1959 in Hardeman County the daughter of William Vales and the late Gladys Chafen Vales. She was educated in the Hardeman County Public School System and was a lifelong resident of West Tennessee. She was married May 11, 2001 to Stephen L. “Steve” Trotter, an Electrician for Two L Electric Company in Memphis, who survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Trotter is survived by her son, Scott Bishop of Grand Valley Lakes; three step-daughters: Kathy Chism of Bolivar; Rachel Trotter and Kim Trotter, both of Union City, TN; two step-sons, Stephen L. Trotter, Jr. of Whiteville and Chris Trotter of Union City, TN; her father, William Vales of Grand Valley Lakes; three sisters: Angela Black of Memphis; Nancy Sisco of Middleton and Donna Vales of Bolivar; two brothers, Danny Vales of Grand Valley Lakes and Chris Vales of Whiteville and eleven grandchildren. The family request that Memorials be directed to the Grand Valley Lakes Volunteer Fire Department or to the charity or organization of the donor’s choice.
