Mrs. Lillie “Ann” Hancock Young, age 81, of Scottsboro, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, at her home under hospice care.
Ann was employed at Jackson County Hospital for 12 years working as a computer operator. She also worked with her husband doing mapping and appraisal during her life. She was an avid reader throughout her whole life. When she was young, she loved basketball and swimming.
Ann was predeceased by her father, Amos Edgar (Red) Hancock and her mother, Lillie McDonald Hancock: sister, Coleen Hancock Sweat; son, David Ray Young; and grandson, D.J. Young.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Ray Young; daughter, Donna Faye Brown and son in-law, Samuel Jessie Brown; grandson, Christopher “Ryan” Bushue and wife, Hillary Pounders; granddaughter, Jessica Ann Bushue; son in-law, Eric Bushue. She also had multiple grandchildren which included Julian Jesse Pounders, Esther Joy Pounders, Amiee Young, Allyson Brooks and Trenton Brooks.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at the Scottsboro Funeral Home with Donna Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the funeral service on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
