Notice for Lillian Marie Boren

Lillian Marie Schroeder Boren joined her soulmate, Aubrey Lindon Boren, and her soul’s Savior on August 3, 2025. Lillian was the epitome of a the Proverbs 31 woman. She was born in Memphis, Tennessee on August 30, 1942, to Harry and Lillian Schroeder. She married Aubrey Lindon Boren on March 24, 1963, and together raised a beautiful family while serving Jesus and many churches in North Mississippi. Her love for Jesus, her husband, children, grandchildren, family, friends, and church members were always evident by her unwavering service and tireless work ethic. She was known for her hugs and breakfast with her famous chocolate gravy (2 cups of sugar, 2 tablespoons Cocoa, 1 heap tablespoon flour, add milk and butter).

Lillian graduated from Treadwell High School in Memphis. After meeting and marrying Lindon, she made her home in Mantachie. After Lindon’s full-time call to the ministry, they lived and served in Becker, Bruce, Nettleton, Amory, and Iuka. She was proud of her help with Lindon’s seminary degree. Her hard work and dedication were always evident at her jobs at Sears, First Baptist Amory’s preschool, Ole Miss School of Education, and Dossett Big 4. Her last “job” and most cherished was serving alongside her husband in his ministerial duties.

Services will be at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 5, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Aubrey Boren, Jr, Mark Boren, and Jason Kelly officiating. Burial will be in the Center Star Cemetery.

She is survived by her children, Carrie Stratton, Aubrey Boren Jr. (Krisha), Mark Boren (Krisi), grandchildren Alex Stratton (Malory), Ty Stratton (Jackie), Abby Bratton (AJ), Avery Boren (Emilie), Walker, Stevie, and Louie Boren, great grandchildren Ayden, Tate, and Sutton. She loved her friends and caretakers from Countrywood in Mantachie.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Lindon; her sisters, Eloise and Harriet; and her parents.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until service time at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Lillian Boren to Evangelical Christian School, 7600 Macon Road, Cordova, TN 38018, or the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, P.O. Box 636, Amory, MS 38821.
