Lillian Blake Wells, age 88, of Russellville went to meet Jesus on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at her residence.
Lillian was born to Keith and Eva Hayes on April 19, 1933, in Jacksonville, Alabama. Lillian met John Griffin Blake, Sr., and they married on June 23, 1950. In 1951, they welcomed their firstborn, Eva Maria and soon after, in 1956, they welcomed a son, John Griffin Jr. In 1997, she married Charles P. Wells after her husband’s passing in 1992. They were married for 13 years before Charles’s passing in 2010. She was a member of Jonesboro Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Maria Fisher (David) as well as her adopted daughter, Michelle Cooper; daughters-in-law, Delana Blake, May Thigpen; grandchildren, Danielle Hovater (Bo), Dustin Fisher, Rachael Austin (Brent), Cory Blake (Regina), Griffin Blake (Kristen), Garret Blake, Grayson Blake, Grace Anne Blake; great-grandchildren, Colton Hovater, Brady Hovater (Brittney), Kirstin Fisher, Samuel Fisher, Aliyah Grace Fisher, Jon Brody Austin, Blakelyn Austin, Evan Austin, Logan Black, Dylan Blake, Briley Blake, Naomi Blake; great-great-grandchild, Addy Williams; nieces, Patsy Troup (Larry), Tina Bailey (Billy); nephews, Albert Smith, Jr. (Martha), Bobby Smith, and Johnny Hayes. She also leaves her beloved friends and family, Kelli Wells Roberson, Greta Boutwell, Virginia Smith, Dot Holley, Samantha Stone, Maggie Pinkard, and Diana Lockmiller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Keith & Eva (Marabel) Hayes; one sister; three brothers; her husbands, John Griffin Blake, Sr. and Charles P. Wells; son, John Griffin Blake, Jr.; and her adopted daughter, Evelyn Kelley.
The visitation will be 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021 at Jonesboro Baptist Church. The service will be at 2:00 p.m. at the church with Bro. Mark Daniel and Bro. Kent Walker officiating the service. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.
The pallbearers will be Cory Blake, Colton Hovater, Brady Hovater, Jon Brody Austin, Dylan Blake, Samuel Fisher, and Evan Austin. The honorary pallbearers will be David Fisher, Bo Hovater, Brent Austin, Johnny Hayes, Larry Troup, Billy Bailey, Adam Bailey, Albert Smith, Jr., Bobby Smith, Jason Troup, Jerrod Troup, David Willis, Dwight Smith, Jackson Thomas, Jonah Walker, James Hester, Harold Miller, Josh Willis, Gabe Willis, Jake Troup, Griffin Blake, Garrett Blake, Grayson Blake, and Logan Blake.
