Lila Brown Minor Gargis, 92, Muscle Shoals, AL passed from this earth January 29, 2017. Visitation will be Wednesday, February 1, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Shady Grove Methodist Church. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the church chapel with Coy Hallmark officiating.
Mrs. Gargis died at home after an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of Colbert County and a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Annie Minor, husband, James E (Bud) Gargis, son, Harry E. Gargis, sisters, Stella and Irene and great granddaughter, Kennedy.
Survivors include; Kenneth Edward Gargis (Priscilla), Jackie Wayne Gargis (Diane), David Evans Gargis (Julie), Phillip Douglas Gargis (Scarlotte), grandchildren; Tammy Ellett (Andy), Lisa Hanback (Ronnie), Darrell Gargis (Tonya), Derrick Gargis (Lisa), April Gargis (Tobey), Mike Gargis (Beth), Mark Gargis, Matt Gargis (Cora), Phillip Gargis Jr.(Carrie), Parker Gargis (Meagan), Kathryn Gargis, David Isaac Gargis, Evan Gargis and Patrick Gargis; eighteen great grandchildren; one great great grandson and three nieces.
She was known for her cooking and enjoyed anyone that stopped by to share a smile and a good meal at the kitchen table. She loved her church and enjoyed gardening.
