THE SHOALS-With Hollywood offering a parade of blockbusters during the holidays, LifeSouth Community Blood Centers will be making a special offer to donors who help save lives at a time when blood supplies typically hit a critically low point.
January 3-5 LifeSouth will offer free movie tickets to blood donors at blood drives all over the North Alabama area, and at its donor centers.
The offer comes just in time to enjoy holiday movie arrivals such as “Anchor Man II,” “The Hobbit,” “Saving Mr. Banks,” “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty,” and “47 Ronin.”
The goal of the blood drives is to rebuild blood supplies for area hospitals following the annual slowdown of donations during the holidays when school is out and many regular donors are traveling.
Donors must be 17 years old, or 16 with parental permission, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good health. A photo I.D. is also required. Donations made with LifeSouth have a direct local impact, helping patients in North Alabama area hospitals.
