Funeral service for Lexie Leeth Moore, 83, will be Saturday, July 23, 2022 at 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Decker officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Hartselle Memory Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, July 23, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mrs. Moore died on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Riverside Assisted Living Center. She was born June 14, 1939, in Morgan County, to Joe Sar Leeth and Mamie Peppers Leeth.
Preceded in death by: Her husband of 43 years, Johnny Lee Moore, her parents, and sisters: Lucille Hall and Frances Melvine (Mickey) Teague
Survivors:
Son – Michael Lee More (Marvelle)
Daughter – Susan Moore Whitten
Grandchildren – Leah Whitten Long (Casey), Maggie Moore Patel (Al), and John Michael Lee Moore
Great Grandchildren – Evie Long and Case Long
and a host of very special nieces, nephews, cousins, brother and sister in-laws, and extended family.
Lexie graduated from Morgan County High School in 1957. Following High School she worked at South Central Bell and Morton Thiokol. After her children were born she stayed at home until they were school age. She then began a 30 year career with Hartselle Medical Center and worked her way up to Business Office Manager. Lexie loved her job and her employees became part of her family.
She was a long-time active member of Bethel Baptist Church. The last few years Lexie was homebound battling Alzheimer’s but the old hymns continued to put a smile on her face.
Lexie loved to garden, preserve vegetables, and cooking for her family. She was a loving Mother, Memaw, and Aunt Lexie that will be greatly missed.
A big thanks and appreciation to Hospice of the Valley, Riverside Senior Living, and faithful sitters Sue Wales, Lisa Dempsey, Tammy Wigginton, Sheniqua Steele, and Amanda Johnson.
In lieu of flowers family suggest donations be made to Hospice of the Valley.
Serving as Pallbearers are John Michael Lee Moore, Casey Long, Doug Sibley, Kevin Kirby, Phil Teague and Joe Whitten.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryon Guire, Paul Guire, Jimmy Moore, Jimmy Penney and Alpesh Patel.
