Lewis Irving “Mac” McGill, Jr., age 84, of Tuscumbia, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, September 1, 2015. Visitation will be Thursday, September 3, 2015, 6 until 8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Friday, September 4, 2015, 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Tuscumbia, with Barrett Long and Bill Shoemaker officiating. Interment will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Mac was born on May 27, 1931 in Tuscumbia. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Sue McGill, his parents, Lewis I. McGill, Sr. and Blanche Morris McGill, brother, Jimmy McGill, sister, Aileen McGill and sister Ruby Schmidelkofer.
Mac retired from the U. S. Air Force and retired from TVA. He was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia where he served as a deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
Survivors include his daughter, Valerie McGill Richardson, son Mark McGill, grandson, Brian Prince (Nikki), great-grandsons, Karson Pounders, Eli Prince and Maddox Prince, brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Pat Shoemaker (his lifelong fishing buddy) and countless nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Deacons of the First Baptist Church of Tuscumbia.
