Letty Jane Metheney Kennedy, 89, Russellville, Al passed away on Friday, October 05, 2012 at her residence.
Letty Jane was born in West Virginia on September 19, 1923. She married Millard Kennedy on March 16, 1946 in Russellville, AL. She was a Christian and a member of the Ligon Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She and Millard had nine children, 19 grandchildren, 35-great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren. She was a loving and nurturing lady. Everyone was always welcomed in her home and she loved cooking for family, friends, and the unexpected guest. She loved to sing and she wrote several songs for the family. She also loved to draw.
The visitation will be 2:00- 4:00 p.m. Sunday, October 07, 2012 at Spry Memorial Chapel in Russellville, AL. The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 08, 2012 at the chapel. Burial will be in Gray Rock Cemetery. Bro. Daniel Welborn will be officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Millard Kennedy; children, Billie McDaniel, Sammy Kennedy; parents, Samaual & Dorothy Metheney; sisters, Etta Belle, Icy Marie; and brothers, Chaney Monrowe, Dayton William, and Dorsell Henry.
