She was born November 3, 1941 to the late Ms. Mary E. Allen and Mr. Cleveland Hawkins.  She departed this earthly life on January 13, 2023 at the Parkway Campus of Decatur Morgan Hospital.

Mother Ford accepted Christ at a very early age and was a dedicated member of St. James M. B Church, where she served on the Mother’s Board and Missionary Society until her health started falling in 2020.

She was a woman that loved to dress up and would not leave home unless she was sharp as a tack and smelled great with her assorted perfume collection. She loved shopping at every department store and enjoyed laughing and smiling wherever she went. She thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her family and was content with everyday of her life. While at home you would find her watching soap operas, westerns, and Walker Texas Rangers.

She is survived by her three children: Mrs. Merita (Roland) Goodloe, Harvest, AL; Mr. Oval J. Ford (Town Creek, AL); and Mrs. Karen (Victor, Sr.) Stewart, Decatur, AL.; one adopted son Mr. Montoya Jackson, Decatur, AL., seven grandchildren, Mr. Shundrell (Tanya) White, Mr. Nathaniel (Sharon) Steward, Ms. Angel Mayes, Ms. Brittany Bonner, Mr. Joctavious Kelley, Mr. Victor Steward, Jr., and Ms. Khadijah Stewart; seventeen great-grandchildren; one sister Ms. Dorothy Ford of Leighton, AL; a special niece Ms. Josephine Hawkins of Charleston, SC; her exceptional caregivers, Ms. Mae Edwards, Ms. Melissa Moore and Kayla Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
