Lester Jack Hester – Obituary

Lester Jack Hester, age 74 of Tuscumbia, died Thursday, May 11, 2017. Visitation will be Saturday, 6-8 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. His funeral service will be Sunday, 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Max Hester officiating. Burial will follow in Cane Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Hester was a native of Colbert County, retired from Reynolds Metals and was of the Presbyterian Faith. He was a graduate of Cherokee Vocational High School, Class of 1961. Jack was an avid football fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Weber Hester, son, Wendal J. Hester, brothers, Tom and Wayne Hester, sisters, Martha Killian, Earleen Zinaman and Miranda Jett.

He is survived by his wife; Carla Harrison Hester, son; Byron K. Hester, brothers; Denton, Glenn, and Doug Hester, sisters; Rebecca Nail, Ruth Thompson, Ann Culberson, Dottie Malone, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Bill Boley, Sonny Barfield, Steve Orr, Lance Smith, Greg Hester, Randy Hester, and Larry Hester. Honorary pallbearers will be the 1961 Class of CVHS.
