Lester Gene Bassham, Sr., 67, Marion, Indiana, formerly of Tuscumbia, passed away on Monday, February 12, 2024. Visitation will be Sunday, February 18, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Jim Fiscus officiating. Interment will be in Shaw Cemetery, Leighton.
Lester worked for Young’s Welding Supply for twenty years, and he loved cutting grass. He loved his family, especially his kids and grandkids. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene “Dude” and Vernell Bassham; brothers, Lonnie Bassham and Baby Boy Bassham.
Lester is survived by his children, Lester Bassham, Jr. (Lisa), Dustin Lee Bassham (Kimberly), Mindy Marie Speegle (Jamie), and April Coulter (Scott); sisters, Fay Hollingsworth, Barbara Borden, Brenda Oliver, and Lorene Bryant; grandchildren, Ben Speegle, Jake Bassham, Dustin Lee Bassham, Jr., Cady Coulter, Courtney Bassham, Kristen Speegle, and Dyllon Coulter; one great-grandchild who is on the way; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
