On Nov. 9, Leslie (Buddy) Henson was freed from his earthly body and reunited with his wife of 56 years, Doris Henson, in Heaven. Although only seven months had elapsed the time was an eternity without his other half. Les is survived by his brother, Tommy Henson (Helen), and three children, John (Noreen), Chad and Elizabeth. Les leaves behind eight grandchildren who loved him to the moon, Kyle Henson, Sarah Henson, Jacob Henson, Maggie Henson, Christine Vance, Tyler Vance, Ian Henson and Caleb Henson. The man never met a stranger and always heeded the call of any friend in need. Les was a devoted husband, son, father, brother and friend who loved a good joke almost as much as he loved a good meal. There is no doubt that the reunion in Heaven is an ongoing and raucous affair.
A memorial service to celebrate Les reuniting with his beloved Doris will be held Monday, Nov. 23, at 3 p.m. at the Blount and Curry Funeral Home, Carrollwood Chapel, 3207 W. Bearss Ave.
