Leroy Matheny, a resident of Cherokee, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at the age of 80. A private family service will be held at a later date.
Leroy was preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki Richardson; granddaughter, Shelby Barksdale; brother, Ralph Matheny; and a sister, Edna Parks.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Matheny; sons, Curtis Jones and Eric Matheny; daughters, Terri Barksdale and Charlotte Burcham (Jerry); brothers, Damon, Ramon, Jimmy, Richard, and Rodger Matheny; sisters, Sue Ring, Peggy Newman, Toni Ricketts, Wilma Roberts, and Pam Stanton; nine grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
