Leona M. Hester, age 82, of Harrison, Tennessee, formerly of Tuscumbia, died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015. Her family will receive friends Saturday, 10-11 a.m., at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. Her funeral service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Mark Hester officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Tuscumbia.
Ms. Hester was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence R. and Bertha Hester, her grandson, Rob Scott, brother, John Hester, and sisters, Evelyn Smith and Sue Martin. She is survived by her daughter, Gala Scott Kirby and husband, Don, of Harrison, Tennessee; brothers, Robert Hester and Cecil Hester; sisters, Vera Johnson, Elaine Oaks, Gala Mitchell, and Glenda Manasco; and several nieces and nephews.
She was a godly woman of faith and was baptized as a young adult at Red Rock Church of Christ. She was an avid gardener and loved her dogs.
Family members will serve as pallbearers.
