Leon (Pap) Peek age 78 of Athens, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Peek was born July 19, 1939 in Limestone County, AL to Robert Peek and Ora Brackeen Peek.
Services will be Monday, September 25, 2017 11:00 a.m., at West Hobbs Street Church of Christ with Bill Irby officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 24, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Athens City Cemetery.
He was the founder of Peek Woodworks in 1969, and a long time member and former elder of West Hobbs Street Church of Christ.
Preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and two sisters.
Survived by his wife of 60 years, Barbara Peek; one son, Brent Peek and wife, Denise; one daughter, Alisa Franks; son-in-law, Roy Franks; two granddaughters, Meggie Turner and husband, David and Morgan Kelsoe and husband, Dustin; two grandsons, Billy Peek and Matthew Franks; three great- grandsons, Braden, Lucas and Griggs; two brothers, Hansel Peek and Kenneth Peek and wife, Nancy; two sisters, Marie Davis and Sally Holt and husband Dwight; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, grandsons-in-laws and two great-nephews.
