Leon Ergle, age 69 of Phil Campbell, AL. passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016 at Helen Keller Hospital.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 30, 6-8 PM at Akins Funeral Home Russellville. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 1, 2016 at 2PM in the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Bro. John McCullar officiating. Burial will be in Blue Springs Cemetery.
He is preceded in death by his wife Myrl M. Ergle, his parents Edgar and Rachel Ergle, and grandson Brian Osborn.
Leon is survived by his fiancé Barbara Daniels, stepdaughters Tammy Baker, Jewell Sherwood (Charles), stepson Gerald Osborn (Nellie), sisters Voncile Ergle, Doris Lindsey, and Brenda Greenhill (Donald), brother Phillip Ergle (Melinda), grandchildren Wendy Thompson, Shannon Herring, Jereld Osborn, Stephanie Osborn, Derek Baker, Emily Baker, and a host of great grandchildren, a great great grandchild, nieces and nephews.
Leon has over 35 years of service and dedication to the community with the Blue Springs Fire Department where he was a longtime member and chief.
