Leon Don Palmer, age 83, passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. today at Colbert Memorial Chapel. A graveside service for family only will follow.
Mr. Palmer was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Annie Palmer; brothers, J. C. and J. T. Palmer; and sister, Virginia Broadus.
He is survived by sons, Don Palmer and James Palmer; daughter, Juanita Phillips; mother of his children, Maxine Palmer; sister, JoAnn Fisher; grandchildren, Erica Cottingham, David Reed, Jessica Palmer Sanchez and Joe Palmer; great-grandchildren, Lucy and Anna Cottingham; and a host of relatives and friends with special recognition to his dear friend, Linda Williams, and Sherry Taylor from Home Instead.
The family will serve as pallbearers.
Mr. Palmer was a veteran of World War II and was a retired machinist/welder from Reynolds Alloys.
