Leoma Mitchell Leoma Mitchell, 83, of Blanche, Tennessee went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 24th, 2026, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born Friday, January 23rd, 1943, in Camargo, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Loyce William Payne and the late Joyce Maggie Sue Sims Payne.

She worked for years in the banking system and was excited to retire and devote her days to her family. A member of Cash Point Baptist Church, her service to the Lord was seen in her teaching various classes, going on mission trips with her beloved husband, Kenneth, and sharing the Gospel message with others. She loved large: the Lord was always first in her and Kenneth’s life and their second priority was each other, with their family being their life purpose. A beautiful lady inside and out, her greatest joy this side of heaven was her family.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Mitchell, her daughter, Stacey Mitchell Gleghorn, one grandchild, Noah Cole, her parents, and her brother, Monroe Payne.

She is survived by her daughter, Kendrea Pressnell, Blanche, TN, one son-in-law, Kelvin Gleghorn, her son, Robert (Andrea) Mitchell, Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Terra Pruitt and Bettie Sue (Thomas) George; grandchildren, Joy (Kenny) Biase, Dwain (Paige) Norton, Angel Norton, Meagan (Jerrod) Kuhlman, Makayla (Adam) Buckelew, Timothy Mitchell, and Adrienne Pressnell; great-grandchildren, Bella, Stephen, Brenna, Olivia, Anthony, Silas, Dayton, Alice, Kyle, Lynlee, Logan, Keith, and Luke; great-great-grandchildren, Layla and Noah Jacob; as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, October 27th, 2026, at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home in Ardmore, Alabama from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

She will lie-in-state on Wednesday, October 28th, 2026, from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM at Cash Point Baptist Church in Ardmore, Tennessee, with the Funeral Service beginning at 1:00 PM. Bro. Derrick Moose will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Blanche Cemetery in Blanche, Tennessee.

Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family with services.
