LeonisMr. Lenoris McClain was born Nov. 24, 1957, in Sheffield, Alabama, to the late Susie M. McClain and Timothy Vinson.
He committed his life to Jesus Christ, his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Leighton, Alabama. He was united in holy matrimony to Dorothy E. Whiteside on July 8, 1980. He served as a faithful minister and elder of the church. He graduated from Colbert County High School and later attended the University of North Alabama where he played football. He was employed with the State Alabama Department of Transportation for 31 years. He served as a high school basketball official for 33 years. He was a devoted son, husband, brother, father, coach, mentor, and friend.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Susie M. McClain, stepmother, Frankie A Vinson, sister, Willie A. Robinson, brother, Johnnie McClain, and daughter, Latoya T. McClain.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his loving wife, Dorothy E. McCain; two sons, Lagarius (Wonell) Whiteside and William T. Davis, both of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; one daughter, Sabrina J. McClain, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; mother-in-law, Annie R. Whiteside, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; special mother, Laura Mae Watkins, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; two brothers, Bill (Tracy) McClain, of Town Creek, Alabama, DeVaughn (Sylvia) Vinson, of Pearland, Texas; three sisters, Renia (Billy) Lavender, of San Antonio, Texas, Meisser (Otis) Thompson, of Houston, Texas, Chiqutta (Keith) Johnson, of Standsford, Virginia; four aunts, Annie Torain, of Hillsboro, Alabama, Cleo (Berkley) Brooks, of Hillsboro, Girt Whiteside, of Detroit, Michigan, Margaret (Walter) Freeman, of Florence, Alabama; two sisters-in-law, Lender (John) Williams, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, Johnnie Mae Watson, of Marysville, Ohio; five grandchildren, Sanai Elise McClain, Maleyia Aynese Whiteside, Carson Eli McClain, Armoni Davis, and William Davis Junior; four special grandchildren, Xavier Jed Whiteside, Kayla Smithers, Marlon Whiteside, and Devon Jones, all of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be Monday Nov. 2, at 1 p.m. at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Leighton, Alabama, with burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Leighton, Alabama. Compassionate and proficient presentation presented by Trinity Memorial Funeral Home Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
