Lenora Talley – Obituary

Lenora Talley passed away peacefully on Octobert 23, 2013. She was known and loved by many as “Mama Talley” or “Red.” She was born on January 8, 1920 and married the love of her life, Reverend Lonnie W. Talley. She enjoyed 49 years as a pastor’s wife and community leader and a lifetime as a dedicated Christian.

Mrs. Talley was a member of Sixteenth Avenue Baptist Church since moving to Decatur in 1987. She was preceded in death by her parents, Commie and Delvie Perry; her sisters, Odell Guy, May Rose Fulmer and Lucille Mize; brother, Hal Perry; and her beloved husband, Lonnie.

She is survived by her three sons, Wayne Talley, Nelson Talley and wife, Mary, and Rick Talley and wife, Linda. She had many grandchildren and great- grandchildren; as well as numerous family members and friends. She was dearly loved by all who knew her.

A graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Joey Tucker on Monday October 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Forrest Grove Cemetery at 1498 5th Avenue, Pleasant Grove, AL 35127, with Ridout’s Brown-Service in Decatur assisting the family.

A special thanks to her grand daughter, Kathy Roe, for all her kindness, care and attention.
